I didn't watch the MTV movie awards because MTV is dumb and I have developed a strong disliking for it. Anyway, as it turns out Twilight cleaned up. Of course. Now I haven't watched the whole thing, but I feel as though the movies running against it had a bit of a hill to climb. Almost every kid between the ages of 10 to 16 love that movie. I don't even think they know why they like it. Probably because it's cool. I'm not saying it's a bad movie, I just fear that people are going to close themselves off to real movies. Movies that get you right in the gut and tear out your insides with emotion. I probably will watch Twilight one day, and who knows I might even like it (although Buffy vampires are better hands down).
Real movies are out there, but you have to look for them. A good place to find them is in the 70's and 80's. I love old movies like The Exorcist, Ghostbusters, The Bluesbrothers, the Rocky Horror Picture Show, etc. They are basically movies that will never die.... I watched Stripes with Bill Murray the other day, AH sooo good. I recommend it. Good fun humour, and classic actors. Old movies are like fine wine they only get better with age. Watch Stripes.
